Abia State Teachers Troop Out to Test for COVID-19

Following the state government's announcement that primary and secondary schools in the state will resume academic activities on August 10, 2020, primary and secondary school teachers in Abia State went out in large numbers to the COVID-19 sample collection centers across the state to test for the virus.

This comes after the Abia State Government announced that the State Ministry of Health, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, on the 4th August, 2020, will commence sample collection and testing for COVID-19 of all teachers, and all those expected to be part of the management of the relevant examinations in the state's public and private schools.

Only candidates who test negative to the coronavirus will be expected to continue interacting or attending classes with students and the management of the examinations.
