Court Dismisses Charges Against Madonna Uni. Students
A Federal high court sitting in Awka, Anambra state has disbanded the charges brought against a lecturer and six students of Madonna University, Okija, over a post on Facebook.
The Facebook post which portrayed the school in a bad way, led to the arrest of the lecturer and students by the school management. The culprits have already spent five months in prison and are identified as: Chijioke Nnamani, Amaechi Benedict, Opara Harmelson, Abuno Jonathan, Owhonda Badaziri, Tony Ezeimo, and Blackson Nwokeoma.
On the 24th of July, the lawyer representing the defendants, Igwe Chinedu, said that some documents from the office of the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), were presented by the prosecutor, on the grounds of a peaceful settlement and the dismissal of the charges by the court of law.
