FG Still Insists on Closure of Schools

The Minister of State for Education, Chief Chukwuma Nwajiuba, speaking on behalf of the Federal Government , says that they are not yet confident to proceed with school reopening in view of the rising number of Covid-19 infections within the country as released by the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC).

This statement was made by Chief Nwajiuba while he responded to questions from journalists after the eighth virtual Federation Executive Council meeting, headed by President Muhammadu Buhari.


He also added that the Federal Government's decision for schools to remain closed is still unchanged, and the West African Examination Council (WAEC) has started consultations with other West African states on the possibility of shifting dates.
