ILLNESS TAKES LIFE OF UNIBEN LECTURER
Professor Alexander Ochuko Emogene, a lecturer at the university of Benin(UNIBEN), has kicked the bucket after briefly falling ill on Saturday morning. A close friend of the professor who asked to be kept anonymous, disclosed this information.
Mr. Emoghene was a professor in the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Life Sciences. He was also a two-time Head of Department of Microbiology, in the same faculty.
Professor Emoghene Studied at the University of Benin, in Edo State, graduating with a second class (upper division) degree in Botany , in the year 1987.
He also obtained a Master of Science (Msc) in Microbiology still from UNIBEN in 1989, and later on, a Doctor of Philisophy () in plant Pathogenic Microbiology/Phytopathology in 1996.
Professor Alexander in April, was meant to deliver a lecture at the regular inaugural lecture series in UNIBEN, but it was postponed because of the whole coronavirus outbreak. He met his sudden demise without giving this pending lecture.
