Lagos state corp members donate COVID-19 sample collection booth
Corps members in Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Government Development Council in Mushin, Lagos State, have donated a COVID-19 sample collection booth to the council area.
Mr. Kayode Oluwadoyinsola LA/19B/4925, speaking of behalf of the corps members said, the need to reduce the high risk of health personnel contracting the disease and also expedite testing, which is a major challenge in the state, was the reason behind the project.
Commissioning the project, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Dr. Amudaliu Yusuph Jimoh, commended the corps members for their wonderful idea, and encouraged other organizations to come up with innovative ideas that will help combat the deadly virus.
Kayode Oluwadoyinsola also explained that the booth has a perspex board, a mini board, an extractor fan, inbuilt alcohol-based hand sanitizer, two large gloves and an electric lighting system all installed. The corps members also distributed food items like; cartons of noodles, garri, beans, cornflakes, and food seasonings.
The state coordinator, NYSC Lagos, Mr. Eddy Megwa, thanked the local government Chairman for taking good care of the corps members serving in the Local Government, and also appreciated the Permanent Secretary for supporting the scheme of the corps members in Lagos state. Also, the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Razaq Olusola Ajala, expressed appreciation to the NYSC State coordinator for his leadership role in facilitating the kind gesture and called on members of the community to support the Government in combating against the COVID-19 virus by cautiously following the existing safety measures already put in place.
