No admission should be made outside CAPS- Minister for State Education
The Hon. Minister of State for Education, Dr. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, at a 2020 virtual policy meeting on admissions to tertiary institutions, warned admission candidates who seek admissions without recourse to the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) introduced by JAMB to desist from such acts.
He noted that CAPS, an automated platform developed by JAMB, was designed to enhance transparency and also ensure inclusiveness in the admission conducts of tertiary institutions. The minister also noted that, the abuse of CAPS not only endangers the system, but also jeopardizes the future of candidates.
In a statement, Dr. Nwajiuba, said " Permit me to also restate that no admission offer should be made to any candidate outside CAPS. Those institutions offering admissions outside CAPS are endangering the system and confusing the candidates. The discipline imposed by the system makes for a healthy and transparent process which, as we know, is the hallmark of the Buhari administration".
Finally, Dr. Nwajiuba, commended the Governing Board of JAMB, Management, and Staff for the uncommon transformation, and pledged the Ministry's support to the board.
