Npower to begins new recruitment on July 26 and drop old beneficiaries

Thousands of Nigerians benefiting from the Npower 30,000.00 monthly stipends are set to be discharge and a new enrollment set to begin July 26 2020.

This announcement was made by the federal government on friday, stating that plans are being made to discharge the current beneficiaries of the Npower program, both Batch A and the Batch B graduates currently enrolled.

In a statement signed on Friday by the humanitarian ministry’s Deputy Director, Information, Rhoda Iliya, she said the process of discharging the Batch A and Batch B volunteers will take effect from 30 of June and 31st of July respectively. Then a new batch being Batch C volunteers will take effect from July 26.

Npower Batch C registration set to begin July 26 2020. following a statement by the Ministry that Batch A will exit June 30, 2020 and Batch B will exit the programme on July 31, 2020. And the commencement of enrolment for a new batch of N-Power beneficiaries effective July 26, 2020,” the official said.

This new development is made in an effort to empower more Nigeria youths, giving them opportunity to also benefit from the N-Power programme.

Who is Eligible to participate in the Npower Batch C recruitment?

It is obvious that the Batche A and B are excluded from the next exercise, meaning previous beneficiaries are not eligible for this fresh application. The new intake yet to begin is strictly meant for citizens who had not benefited from any of the Npower programs. Also, a detailed information for the new application process will be disclosed in the coming weeks.

To ensure that all Nigerians secure the opportunity to participate in the forth coming exercise, plans are made for the use of hybrid system for enrollment. The ministry also added that special considerations would be made available for persons with disabilities.

Untill July 26, the online portal for application remain close for new intake and would be open on July 26 12 midnight. The Batch C recruitment process will require for a BVN Number. This is to ensure a transparent selection process.

“Once applications are submitted, the ministry will review submissions and publish a list of successful applicants,” Ms Iliya said.

The humanitarian ministry also said efforts are being made to ensure that the exiting beneficiaries are absorbed into government entrepreneurship schemes after “completion of psychometric assessment to determine competency and placement into various opportunities.

“We have commenced the transitioning of beneficiaries from Batches A & B into government entrepreneurship schemes and engaging private sector bodies to absorb some of the beneficiaries after the completion of psychometric assessment to determine competency and placement into various opportunities,” Ms Iliya said.

The N-Power programme was inaugurated by President Buhari in 2016 with thousands of direct beneficiaries spread across the key industries targeted by the programme – Agriculture, Health, Education, and Tax.
