Oyo State Guidelines for School Resumption
As schools within the country prepare to reopen, Governors in turn are taking practical measures to ensure the school environment is safe.
Oyo state government has announced some guidelines that schools across the state will follow up on. In a statement by the State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Olasunkanmi Olaleye on the 1st July, he said that school heads, principals and teachers have been taught how to report and monitor any suspected case of Covid-19.
Warders will be assigned to each class and they would be expected to report their observations to their Incident Managers.
Hand-washing points at all entrances in the schools must be observed at all times, and alcohol-based sanitizers must be provided for both the teachers and the students.
The state capital has set up Emergency Operation Centres (EOCs) at the zonal levels, and Incident Managers have been assigned to each school. The Incident Managers are to report directly to the EOCs using special communication lines.
