SSANU and NASU Declare Strike Over IPPIS
It has been disclosed by the President of SSANU, Comrade Samson Ugwoke, while addressing newsmen in Abuja that, the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Non Academic Staff Union (NASU) and Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) has embarked on an industrial action due to the disagreements surrounding the IPPS platform.
The association accused the government of being irresponsible, and not doing enough to sort out the issue which has led the union to a point where a strike action might be inevitable.
Also,Comrade Samson Ugwoke pointed out that the leadership of the associations were under immense pressure from its superiors to embark on a strike action in solidarity with ASUU's stance on IPPS enrollment.
They also rebuked the IPPS platform, stating that since the enrollment of some of its members on the platform, it has taken a turn for the worse. The strike action would take effect from the date of work resumption, after the lifting of the coronavirus lock-down.
