Description

ATCOICOE also runs the first Degree Programmes and the Professional Diploma in Education (PDE). ATCOI COE School of Synergic Studies is its prime contribution towards the restoration of authentic education in our society. Our synergic study embodies the Learner-Centred principle of Education which makes the students participate actively in the classroom learning process with their tutors who act as educational facilitators. ATCOI COE’s Learner-Centred Education and the Community of Inquiry Paradigm is championed as the first of its kind in Nigeria. We expends every energy and learning techniques to ensure that every student that passes through ATCOI COE is enriched with such critical, creative and caring thinking skills designed to foster the development of ability for self-discovery, self-mastery and self-actualisation in student as would be necessary in development of a leading human person in whatever sphere of life the person finds his/herself. This is to ensure that our graduates are empowered holistically to excel despite the societal challenges of our time. Throughout the years, ATCOI COE has successful propagated and executed this learning paradigm and could say confidently that the system has no theoretical or practical equal in promoting effective teaching and learning process. Our ultimate vision is to breed responsible and reasonable humans being; humans who can think for themselves and use their ideas cum initiative to contribute meaningfully to the wellbeing of the entire universe. We advocate that children and their teachers should be full partners in the learning process. We believe just as John Lock did, that andragogically oriented education should do everything to recognize learner’s capacity to reason for themselves. This is path to making education more meaningful, more authentic and more capable of contributing to national development and production of authentic human beings. ATCOI COE family is made up of a large assemblage of highly qualified personalities specialized in different areas of study that ensures the sustenance of very high academic standard in the college.
